Skaneateles Falls, NY-- The U.S. Defense Department has awarded a contract for up to $43.6 million to Welch Allyn Holdings Inc. for medical equipment for the armed forces.
The Department of Defense announced the contract Wednesday.
Work on the contract will be done in Skaneateles Falls. The company will make systems that monitor patients' vital signs. The contract also includes parts and training. The work is to be completed by June 23, 2011.
The systems will be used by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and federal civilian agencies.
Welch Allyn employs 2,500 including 1,200 at its Skaneateles headquarters.
