Daniel Bailey, 49, is facing a second-degree murder charge in the bludgeoning death of Pleamon Fletcher, 69.

Fletcher's body was found in his home at 116 Maplewood Ave. in the city's Valley neighborhood the night of June 12. Bailey is accused of causing Fletcher's death about 11 p.m. June 11 by striking the victim several times in the head with a baseball bat.

Authorities said after Bailey's arrest that he was also wanted in Michigan. After consulting with lawyer Charles Keller, Bailey today signed papers agreeing to be taken back to Michigan.

Keller, however, said any movement on the Michigan extradition matter would have to wait until the murder case here is resolved.
