Police arrest two, seek a third for Victoria's Secret panty raid

Syracuse, NY--Two Syracuse women accused of stealing $3,900 worth of lingerie from Victoria’s Secret in Carousel Center in April have turned themselves into police. Vanessa Richway, 22, of 1135 Reed Ave., and Latasha Thomas, 22, of 303 Bradley St., both of Syracuse, were charged with felony grand larceny in the third degree, police said. They turned themselves in to police on May 11.

Police said they are seeking an arrest warrant for a third suspect.

2010-05-16Vanessa Richway.JPGVanessa RichwaySecurity cameras caught four suspects taking $3,900 worth of bras and panties from the Victoria’s Secret store on April 8. The women took 80 bras and 25 panties.

Police believe four girls worked together to distract the clerks and steal the merchandise. The store’s security cameras caught the act on tape. The police gave the tape to media, which broadcast it about a week later.

The Criminal Investigation Division immediately began receiving tips, which lead to the suspects. As a result of the tips and investigation, police arrested Richway and Thomas after they turned themselves in.

The stolen merchandise has not yet been recovered.
