Manlius, NY -- A Central New York murder case that split a family is featured in an article in the current issue of “O, The Oprah Magazine.”
The article profiles the case of Timothy Ginocchetti, who killed his mother in 2006, and focuses on Ginocchetti’s grandmother, Esther Rufo.
Rufo, the article says, stood by Ginocchetti after he killed her daughter. She still visits him regularly, the article says, and plans on being there when he is scheduled to be released from prison in nine years, six months before she turns 80.
In 2007 Ginocchetti pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing his mother, Pam Ginocchetti, four years after his father, John Ginocchetti, died fighting a fire.
