What would you do to take care of the oil spill disaster?
After President Barack Obama used pretty powerful language to describe why he was spending time speaking with officials about what to do for the oil spill, syracuse.com users seem split in their opinion. Some say that Obama’s choice of words give them hope that he’ll tackle the problem, others say that if he has time to speak these words then he isn’t doing enough. Here’s what syracuse.com user upstateman had to say:
“So you're all pretty critical of how Obama's handling this. Is there something different you would have done? Do you think once you become president you possess the answer to every situation? That's why we have experts and scientists who specialize in the specific field.
Now make a list of everything Obama must deal with each day. If you think the oil spill is the only thing on that list you need to rethink what exactly the job of president entails.
This oil spill, though it is a horrific disaster, is not the fault of one man. It is the ignorance of many, including us citizens. People need to forget their political affiliation and stop pointing fingers. Now is the time to contribute something useful.”
