Syracuse, NY – Syracuse police charged a city man with felony assault and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident today after he allegedly ran over his brother.
John Laveck, 25, of 200 Union Place, Syracuse, was riding in a 2000 Ford Windstar being driven by Josh Laveck, 23, of 228 Clarence Ave., Syracuse, when they got into an argument, Sgt. Gary Bulinski said.
Shortly after midnight, John Laveck got out of the vehicle and started to walk away, Bulinski said. Josh Laveck drove off, returned and ran over John Laveck in the 500 block of LeMoyne Avenue, he said.
John Laveck was taken to Upstate University Hospital with a broken leg, a broken pelvis and scrapes, Sgt. Gary Bulinski said.
Police later found Josh Laveck at home. In addition to the felony counts, police charged him with misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon and reckless driving, Bulinski said. He was taken to the Justice Center Jail to await arraignment this morning in Syracuse City Court.
