Syracuse, NY -- A bicyclist was charged with felony weapon possession after being stopped by police Thursday on the city's near west side.
Police said they stopped cyclist Carlos Torres, 17, of 203 Kellogg St., about 8:35 p.m. on the 200 block of Shonnard Street after seeing Torres break "multiple local laws."
During the stop, police found a loaded .38 caliber handgun in Torres' front pants pocket, police said.
Torres was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, loitering, imprudent use of a bicycle on a sidewalk and having an unregistered bicycle, police said. He was held at the Justice Center Jail to await arraignment this morning in Syracuse City Court.
