Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse man is facing two felony charges after police accused him of firing a gunshot near a north side market.
Ronald Maynor Jr., 22, of 721 Hawley Ave., will be arraigned this morning in Syracuse City Court for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment, police said.
The charges came after police responded to a shots-fired complaint about 7:18 p.m. Thursday at 1201 Butternut St., near the Choice One Market. Witnesses said a young man fired one shot toward the market's parking lot and fled into the back yard of a home on the 1100 block of Butternut, heading toward Highland Street.
Police said they found a man matching the suspect's description -- later identified as Maynor -- behind 1015 Highland St., took him into custody and held him at the Justice Center Jail to await arraignment. They have not recovered the gun used, police said.
No one was hurt in the incident, police said.
