Syracuse, NY - A Syracuse man was sentenced today by Onondaga County Judge Anthony Aloi to six years in state prison for helping a North Syracuse woman rob her former boyfriend.
Alonzo Williams, 21, of Hawley Avenue, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery in the Oct. 14 holdup.
Authorities said Misty Rowe, 21, of North Main Street, used text messages to lure former boyfriend Michael French to Fairview Avenue in Syracuse so he could be robbed by her current boyfriend, Angel DeJesus, and Williams.
Officials said Rowe thought French would be alone and was unaware DeJesus and Williams were armed with machete knives when they went to rob him. French showed up with two friends, one of whom had a knife held to his throat during the robbery, according to the prosecution.
The victims were not hurt and the suspects stole a case of beer, cell phones and cash.
DeJesus, 25, of Burnet Avenue, pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and was sentenced to serve nine years in prison. Rowe pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree robbery and was promised a sentence of five years’ probation.
