Broken crane closes ramps and lanes on I-81 in Syracuse

I-81 north down to 1 lane from Adams to Court streets; I-690 west ramp to I-81 north is closed.

Syracuse, NY--New York State Department of Transportation officials have closed two ramps and limited traffic to one lane on northbound Interstate 81 in Syracuse this morning after a crane jammed during overnight work.

Officials aren’t sure when they’ll be able to repair the crane and move it out of the travel lanes.

For now, the Interstate 690 west ramp to I-81 north and the Pearl Street on-ramp to I-81 north remain closed.

I-81 north from Adams Street to Court Street is down to one lane until further notice.
