State University of New York Chief Counsel C. Nicholas Rostow either has a top secret assignment keeping him out of the office much of this year, or he has one of the highest paying no-show jobs in the entire SUNY system.Rostow hasn't been seen for months and no work product from him is evident, according to colleagues who once relied on his legal advice. And earlier this month, SUNY assigned a veteran of the system to take over his responsibilities so that at least SUNY leaders know where to go for attorney services.
Asked about his status, duties and absences, Rostow, reached at his Manhattan home, repeatedly said: "I cannot talk about that."
