Garth M. Hill, acquitted of murder in 2006, is being held on a probation violation
Syracuse, NY -- Syracuse police have arrested a man they say entered a city elementary school Oct. 29 and fondled two teachers, one in front of her first-grade class.
Garth Hill, 28, of 2100 Bellvue Ave., is being held on a parole violation, police said.
Police said they don’t know how Hill got into McKinley-Brighton Elementary School around 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29, but they said he entered a first-grade classroom and groped a teacher in front of the class then walked down the hall and groped a second teacher.
Hill fled the school after being confronted by an administrator, police said.
However, Hill left his wallet behind and was identified by witnesses.
Hill has an extensive criminal record, according to Post-Standard archives. In May 2006, he was sentenced to jail for possessing a handgun. Two months earlier, he was found not guilty of murder in the 2003 death of Jimmie J. Smiley III.
He was convicted in 2005 of assaulting a sheriff’s deputy at the county Justice Center.
