Auburn, NY -- Tips from the public helped Auburn police catch a Level 2 sex offender after he allegedly failed to report a change in address.
Sydney Leon Chase, 26, was found today at a residence in Clyde, Wayne County, said Auburn police Lt. Shawn Butler. Clyde police helped catch Chase at 77 Galen St.
A warrant for Chase's arrest was issued after he disappeared from 106 Wall St., Auburn, in October.
Chase was charged with felony failing to register a change of address as a sex offender. He was sent to jail with bail set at $2,500.
