Syracuse, NY – Onondaga County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jamie Nestor will be promoted to lieutenant during a ceremony at 1 p.m. at the sheriff’s 407 S. State St. headquarters.

Nestor, 60, of Liverpool, joined the sheriff’s office in 1994 and was promoted to sergeant five years later.

As a lieutenant, Nestor will oversee the operations of the civil department. That unit handles summons, petitions, subpoenas, seizure orders, eviction warrants, orders of protection and civil arrest warrants.
