Weedsport, NY -- Three Syracuse women were charged with prostitution following a sting by Auburn police and the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office at a Weedsport hotel.

Auburn police received a tip about the prostitution and contacted the women to arrange a meeting at the hotel, Auburn police said.

Two undercover officers met the three women inside a hotel room and negotiated with them, police said. After reaching a deal and exchanging money, the three were arrested by members of the sheriff’s office, police said.

Mindy Lee Welch, 31, of 400 Village Drive; Mandy Lynn-Marie Welch, 34, of 304 Village Drive; and Kahlila M. Bender-Baker, 23, of 511 Danforth St., were all charged with one count each of prostitution. Mindy Lee Welch and Mandy Lynn-Marie Welch are sisters who formerly lived in Cayuga County, police said.
