The surgery team includes Dr. Seth Greenky, orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. Srinivas Tumuluri, anesthesiologist. The patient, a 62-year-old woman from Liverpool, has exhausted all nonsurgical options for managing her knee pain, will undergo a total knee replacement.
The hospital is experimenting with social media as a way of informing Central New Yorkers about services it provides. Greenky's brother and fellow orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brett Greenky, will be present in the operating to provide play-by-play to be fed into the hospital's Twitter stream for anyone to read. Photos will also be available.
Post-Standard Health & Fitness editor Amber Smith will be there, too. Follow her at www.twitter.com/ambersmith.
