Holland Patent, NY -- A Holland Patent High School student was accused Tuesday of bringing a hunting rifle and ammunition to school grounds.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office accused Andre N. LaFave Jr., 17, of Trenton, of criminal possession of a weapon fourth degree, a misdemeanor.
Police said a Remington Model 700 bolt action hunting rifle and a box of 7 mm rifle ammo/cartridges was found in plain view on the rear seat of the unlocked vehicle LaFave drove to the school’s parking lot.
A deputy immediately took the rifle into custody. LaFave was issued an appearance ticket.
