Syracuse, NY -- An air quality company specializing in the medical industry will relocate to Syracuse, with plans to hire nearly 100 employees as it begins production in three to five years.

A press conference is scheduled for 9:30 Thursday morning at the Syracuse Technology Garden, 235 Harrison St.

Haledyne LLC will open research facilities at the Tech Garden, according to a media advisory. The company is relocating from Beachwood, a suburb of Cleveland. The company has four employees, with immediate plans to add eight more positions. The company aims to reach 100 employees so it can begin production in Onondaga County.

Haledyne has developed cutting-edge technology that keeps infectious diseases from spreading in public places, such as hospitals, according to its website. It says its technology is more energy-efficient and cheaper than existing systems. Haledyne teamed with researchers at Harvard University and Saint Vincent’s Medical Centers in Manhattan to develop “upper-room ultraviolet germ irradiance (UVGI) technology,” according to its website, www.haledyne.com.

Making the announcement this morning will be officials from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, National Grid, CenterState CEO, the Tech Garden and Haledyne.
