Syracuse, NY -- A Nedrow man was sentenced this morning to serve a year in jail for violating Leandra's Law and an unrelated drug conviction.

Jarius Chrisjohn, 22, of 251 Route 11, Nedrow, is to serve one year at the Onondaga County Correctional Facility, pay a $1,000 fine and have his license revoked for a year.

Onondaga County Judge Anthony F. Aloi also gave Chrisjohn a three-year conditional discharge that includes installing an ignition interlock device on his vehicles.

The sentence resulted from Chrisjohn's guilty plea to an aggravated DWI charge stemming from a March 22 incident in which he was driving drunk while a child was in the car, Senior Assistant District Attorney Chris Bednarski said.

Aloi also sentenced Chrisjohn to a year in jail, to be served concurrently, as the result of his guilty plea to a charge of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance in an unrelated case.
