Post-Standard staff writer Tim Knauss will post live reports from Tuesday's public hearings on National Grid's proposed $400 million rate hike. His full report will appear Wednesday in The Post-Standard and on syracuse.com.
The state Public Service Commission will conduct the hearings at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room 120 of the Criminal Courts Building, 505 S. State St., in Syracuse.
National Grid applied for the rate increase in January, saying that operating costs have increased. But PSC staff auditors have harshly criticized the request, saying rates should increase no more than $37 million. The five-member Public Service Commission is scheduled to rule on the rate hike in January.
