Tyre, NY – One person was airlifted with a spinal injury and other was taken by ambulance with a broken shoulder after a rollover crash this morning on the Thruway in Seneca County, state police said.
Keith Glover and Alex George, both 17 of Farmington, were ejected from the backseat of a Honda Odyssey van after it went off the north shoulder of the Thruway and rolled over several times near mile marker 314, said Sgt. Nick Merritt.
Glover was flown to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. George was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
The driver, Nathan T. Hart, 19, of Farmington, fell asleep about 10:30 a.m., causing the van to veer off the road, Merritt said. The driver and two other passengers sustained minor injuries.
Troopers have said that the teenagers were returning home from a Phish concert in Massachusetts.
The right lane of westbound I-90 was closed nearly three hours following the crash.
