Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse man is to go on trial Feb. 28 on charges that he tried to murder his wife nearly a year earlier.
Onondaga County Judge Anthony F. Aloi set the date this morning for the trial of Cecil Torrence III, 35, of 209 Chaffee Ave.
Police said Lisa Torrence was showering at home on March 4 when her husband shot her. Cecil Torrence then fled with the couple's 2-year-old child, who was later dropped off with a relative, police said.
Cecil Torrence was indicted in July on charges of second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated criminal contempt and endangering the welfare of a child.
