Syracuse, NY -- The 10th Mountain Division Band will lead the 2010 CNY Veterans Parade when it steps off at noon Nov. 6 in Clinton Square in Syracuse.

This is the third year for the event honoring veterans and those who currently serve in the armed forces.

About 100 organizations, including 50 veterans’ groups from Central New York, will participate, said Diana LaMattina Abdella, an aide to state Assemblyman William B. Magnarelli, D-Syracuse.

The parade participants were announced at a news conference this morning.

Active and reserve military members from the 198th Army Marching Band, the 174th Fighter Wing, the 27th Brigade Combat Team, Marines from Echo company and the U.S. Coast Guard station in Oswego will march in the parade.

They’ll be joined this year by veterans who are employees of local companies such as Anaren, Lockheed Martin and Excellus BlueCross-BlueShield.

High school marching bands from Baldwinsville, East Syracuse-Minoa, Henninger, Phoenix and West Genesee will join the Brigadiers, the Syracuse Scottish Pipe Band and the Chittenango High School Dixieland Band in providing music along the parade route.
