After news broke that someone stole $700,000 in quarters, dimes and nickels from Syracuse’s parking meters in plain view for six years, according to a document filed in federal court, many syracuse.com users were outraged and curious as to how this could happen without someone noticing sooner. Here’s what ChairmanAl01 had to say:
“It doesn't matter if you're the CEO of British Petroleum, or a cook at Denny's... nobody should be exempt from conducting themselves or their businesses in an ethical manner. And try to cheer up! Extremism and criminality are already here; they have always been with us in some form, and despite that, we still manage persevere. There are still a lot of good people in the world. Unfortunately, they just don't get the press coverage that the naughty ones get. I have faith that we will come out of this intact and better for the experience... sooner or later. (Sooner would be better, though.)”
