'Studies show that the best way to get elected is to get out there and meet your constituents face-to-face. Please knock on my door!'

2010-10-13-sdc-congressdeba.JPGDemocratic Congressman Dan Maffei and his challenger Republican candidate Ann Marie Buerkle held one of their series of debates at YNN Studios at Time Warner Cable in East Syracuse on Wednesday morning, October 13th, 2010.

U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei leads Republican challenger Anne Marie Buerkle by 12 percentage points in the 25th Congressional District race as the campaign heads into its final two weeks, a new Post-Standard/Siena College Poll shows. Here's what syracuse.com user sumpa has to say:

"I was one of the people polled in this survey. I remain undecided about the Congressional race in my district. What will influence my vote? The debates and ads. A politician who can't stand on his or her own record and resorts to stomping on the character of their opponent to gain votes, will not get my vote. To me this suggests "party" influence, not the independent thinkers we need in government to assure that the interest of the taxpayer is well served. I'm tired of the tv ads and all the mailings. Studies show that the best way to get elected is to get out there and meet your constituents face-to-face. Please knock on my door!"
