Baldwinsville, Auburn, C-NS, Phoenix and Jordan-Elbridge win at field band shows

Phoenix, Jordan-Elbridge and Cicero-North Syracuse won their classes at the Liverpool High School field band competition Saturday night.

At the competition at Victor High School in Ontario County, Auburn won the Large School 3 class.

And outside Baltimore, Baldwinsville beat seven Maryland high schools at the United States Scholastic Band Association championship.

At Liverpool, Phoenix scored 72.1 points in the Small School 2 class and Jordan-Elbridge scored 74.7 points in the Small School 1 class. Cicero-North Syracuse tallied 89 points in the National class, followed by Central Square with 84.3 and Oswego with 82.2. Liverpool did an exhibition at the show.

At Victor, in Large School 3, Auburn beat Greece by a score of 76.7 to 75.1 In the Small School 1 class, Medina won with 85.7 points, followed by East Syracuse Minoa with 84.65 and East Irondequoit with 81.9. The National class was won by Victor with 92.65 points, followed by West Genesee with 91 and Webster with 85.3.

The Baldwinsville field band won its class, scoring 89.53 in the competition at Towson University. They also won for best music, best percussion, best color guard, best effect and best visuals.

As part of the band's trip to the Baltimore area, the Baldwinsville pep band will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hard Rock Cafe at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
