Republican Carl Paladino spent three minutes of paid TV airtime in his hometown of Buffalo Thursday trying to explain directly to New Yorkers his version of a week's worth of conflict that has ended his momentum and threatens his campaign for governor. Among the topics was his allegation that his Democratic opponent, Andrew Cuomo, has had affairs.
Paladino's message led a handful of syracuse.com users to comment on his campaign and the latest wrinkle. Here's what one user, SimplyMeToo, had to say:
"I would like to see two things. First, for Mr Paladino to provide PROOF that Mr Cuomo had an affair or affairs. SOLID PROOF nor just hearsay. Second, PROOF that some photog took pictures through his daughters bedroom window as he has stated. The PROOF would be a police report because IF someone was taking pictures through ANY of my windows you can bet your last dollar that I would be 9-1-1ing it and then grabbing my digital and snapping pics of the photog doing it. As for affairs, I would guess probably 85 - 90 % have in one way or another but again, PROOF is needed when you "call someone out". There is not one 100% HONEST political figure in this world. But to sink so low that you would use your own child to get sympathy is over the edge."
