Police from three different agencies set up a perimeter, conducted a yard-by-yard search and used a helicopter to scour a neighborhood in Palo Alto, Calif. Tuesday night.
The heinous crime? Someone stole a pedestrian's Droid smartphone.
To top it off, they didn't catch the suspect. "I think the helicopter is what threw more attention to this," Palo Alto police Agent Max Nielepko told the San Jose Mercury News.
