Syracuse, NY -- A man was stabbed to death Wednesday afternoon on Bellevue Avenue, police said.
Syracuse were called to 922 Bellevue Ave. at 5 p.m. and found a man stabbed in the chest, said Sgt. Gary Bulinski.
The man, whose identity was not yet available, was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:35 p.m.
Bulinski said detectives were in the early stages of the investigation. It appeared there was some sort of dispute between two men in the upstairs apartment and one was stabbed.
No one had been charged yet, Bulinski said and police were interviewing witnesses.
A woman and child left the scene in an unmarked police car.
Police Chief Frank Fowler visited the scene briefly before referring reporters to Bulinski and departing.
Firefighters and Rural Metro Ambulance also responded to the scene.
