Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse man was charged with driving while intoxicated Tuesday night after the car he was driving struck a garage, police said.
Syracuse police were called to a crash report about 7:30 at Nob Hill Apartments on Lafayette Road.
When they arrived they found a 2007 Nissan Versa had hit and damaged the wall of a garage at the apartment complex.
Police charged the driver, whom they identified as Derogy Mbaandewa of 111 Lafayette Road, with driving while intoxicated and consuming an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
Mbaandewa was ticketed, police said, and taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center as a precautionary measure after complaining of neck pain.
