Syracuse, NY -- A 19-year-old Syracuse man told police he was shot early this morning in the 4700 block of South Salina Street, Syracuse police said.
Wesley Meyers was driven to Community-General Hospital by a friend following the 1:30 a.m. shooting. Meyers was treated for a wound to the arm, which was not life threatening, police said.
Meyers told police he was leaving a vehicle when he was approached by a man with a shotgun, police said. Meyers told police the man yelled at him, but Meyers kept walking. It was then Meyers told police he was shot.
The suspect was described as a black man, 6 feet 1 inch, 150 pounds and wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt. The suspect ran from the scene east on Roney Road, police said.
