Vaccine clinics will be stationed throughout the county from Oct. 26 through Nov. 23.
Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Onondaga County Health Department has scheduled 14 flu vaccine clinics throughout the county from Oct. 26 through Nov. 23.
The vaccine includes protection against the H1N1 flu and seasonal flu in one vaccine, eliminating the need for two vaccinations. The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending that everyone over 6 months of age get vaccinated. Children under 9 who have never had the vaccine need two doses.
Starting Oct. 4 county residents can make reservations online or by calling 435-5752. Medicare Part B, Medicaid, some private insurance plans, cash or check will be accepted as payment at the clinics. The cost is $30 for adults, $15 for children and $45 for a pneumonia shot. The Health Department said no one will be turned away if they are unable to pay.
