A Minoa man was killed Sunday morning after the sedan he was a passenger in hit a utility pole west of Ithaca, the Tompkins County sherriff’s department said.
Calvin V. Wilcox, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 3:17 a.m. crash on Waterburg Road, near state Route 79 in the town of Enfield, deputies said. The driver of the 2008 Kia was Alexander S. Mosher, 21, of Mecklenburg Road, Ithaca.
The car went into a ditch and hit a culvert before going across a driveway and striking the utility pole, deputies said. Mosher was flown to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa., with serious injuries, deputies said.
