Syracuse, NY - A Syracuse man caught driving drunk on a motorized mini-bike with his 9-year-old daughter was sentenced today to one to three years in state prison.
Raney Stackhouse, 45, of 218 McLennan Ave., recently pleaded guilty to aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the April 22 incident.
Authorities said Stackhouse initially was stopped by police on Kirk Avenue because neither he nor the child was wearing a helmet. Officers discovered Stackhouse was drunk and charged him with violating Leandra's Law for driving drunk with a child.
Onondaga County Judge Anthony Aloi said Stackhouse would be required to have an ignition interlock device on any vehicle he owns or operates when he gets out of prison.
The judge also said an ignition interlock system will be required on any vehicles owned and operated by Victoria Conroy after she pleaded guilty today to aggravated DWI with a child.
Conroy, 35, of 1647 W. Onondaga St., admitted she was driving under the influence of drugs when she was stopped - with a child in her vehicle - on Route 11 in Cicero on April 10.
Defense lawyer Fran Walter said Conroy had a prescription for medication to help her with panic attacks and she apparently overmedicated herself that day.
Aloi promised Conroy - who had no prior record - a three-year conditional discharge and set sentencing for Nov. 24.
