Oswego, NY -- An Oswego man has been arrested in connection with a fire Monday at his address.Police arrested John M. Coughlin, 61, of 211 E. Eighth St., Apartment 2, and charged him with third-degree arson and second degree burglary, both felonies. He also was charged with obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor.
Oswego police said Coughlin is accused of entering a downstairs apartment in the building and intentionally starting a fire. No one was inside the apartment when the fire began and no one was injured.
He also is accused with physically interfering in the investigation at the scene of the fire.
Coughlin was arraigned in Oswego City Court and sent to the Oswego County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond. He will return to Oswego City Court Sept. 28.
