Syracuse, NY - A 15-year-old pedestrian was taken to Upstate University Hospital this morning after a car-pedestrian crash at the intersection of James and Oak streets in Syracuse.

Syracuse police Sgt. Gary Bulinski said the victim's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. The victim, who was not identified, suffered cuts and scrapes and an injured left leg.

A Dodge Neon was eastbound on James Street with a green light when the pedestrian ran into the path of the car, Bulinksi said.

The Neon's driver, Timothy Challis, 52, of 623 Catherine St., was accused of driving with a suspended license, Bulinksi said, and was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation.

Authorities reported the crash occurred about 7:30 a.m.
