East Syracuse, NY -- Eleven high school field bands performed at the first local field band competition of this fall season Saturday at East Syracuse Minoa High School.
Eight of the bands were from Central New York.
In the National class, West Genesee won with 81.15 points, followed by Cicero-North Syracuse with 78.05, Liverpool with 77.45, Central Square with 75.65 and Oswego with 72.35.
In the Small School 1 class, New Hartford won with 72.4 points, followed by East Syracuse Minoa with 71.45 and Jordan-Elbridge with 64.15.
In the Large School 2 class, Baldwinsville won with 69.25 points followed by Horseheads with 67.65.
In Large School 3 class, East Ramapo was the only competitor and scored 58.5 points.
Phoenix and Auburn kick of their season Sept. 18 at the Cicero-North Syracuse show.
