Syracuse, NY -- Morgan McMahon, who was shot Sunday afternoon, died 3 p.m. Monday, Syracuse police said.
The shooting, which happened near Midland Avenue on the city’s South Side, is now considered a homicide, said Syracuse Police Sgt. Tom Connellan.
According to police, McMahon, 25, of Fairfield Avenue, was a passenger in a van that was stopped shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Glahn Avenue.
People in the van told people who lived in the area that McMahon had been shot in the head.
Ambulance personnel kept McMahon in the van as they treated her, before transporting her to Upstate University Hospital.
Police said they thought at least one person fled the van.
The homicide remains under investigation.
