A Megabus double-decker coach bus traveling from Allentown, Pa., to Toronto struck the railroad bridge over Onondaga Lake Parkway at about 2:30 a.m. today, killing at least two people and leaving two others trapped inside who are believed dead, according to a report from WSYR-TV in Syracuse.
WSYR reports that according to the Onondaga County Sheriff's Department, 27 people were on the bus when it struck the bridge and flipped over on its side. The driver and the other passengers, some with serious injuries, have been transported to four area hospitals.
Traffic in both directions on Onondaga Lake Parkway will continue to be closed for several hours, according to WSYR's report.
