Syracuse, NY--Central New York Muslims will mark the end of Ramadan tonight, before celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow with a carnival at the Islamic Society of Central New York in Syracuse.

Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan, which this year began Aug. 11 and ends tonight.

The three-day holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr, which celebrates the end of fasting, begins Friday.

Local Muslims will begin gathering at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Oncenter in Syracuse for prayer that begins promptly at 8 a.m., followed by a sermon.

From noon to 5 p.m. the society will host a small carnival at its mosque on Comstock Avenue.
