Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan, which this year began Aug. 11 and ends tonight.
The three-day holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr, which celebrates the end of fasting, begins Friday.
Local Muslims will begin gathering at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Oncenter in Syracuse for prayer that begins promptly at 8 a.m., followed by a sermon.
From noon to 5 p.m. the society will host a small carnival at its mosque on Comstock Avenue.
