Syracuse, NY - A Syracuse man was still being evaluated at University Hospital late this morning after being struck by a vehicle near his home earlier today.
Chris Stanat, 71, of 440 Westcott St., was crossing Westcott Street about 7:50 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle, Syracuse police Sgt. Gary Bulinski said.
The motorist, Howard Jenkins, 52, of 533 Allen St., was making a left turn onto Westcott Street from Harvard Place when his 2007 Mazda sport utility vehicle struck Stanat, Bulinski said.
Bulinski said Stanat was transported to University Hospital for treatment of knee and back pain. He was still being evaluated in the hospital emergency room late this morning, a hospital official reported.
Bulinski said no tickets were issued.
