Syracuse, NY - An Onondaga County grand jury has voted to indict a Syracuse teenager in connection with a shooting outside a South Geddes Street gas station that left one man dead and a second critically injured.

Jesus Carmona, 15, of 226 Holland St., was to have been in City Court today for a preliminary hearing. But the District Attorney's Office avoided that hearing by reporting that a grand jury had voted to indict Carmona.

Details of the indictment won't be known until it is formally returned in court at a later date.

Carmona was charged last week with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in the shooting that occurred Aug. 21 outside the gas station at 631 S. Geddes St.

He was accused of acting together with 23-year-old Emilier Carrassquillo-Fuentes to intentionally kill Luis Quinonez-Osario and to try to kill Yojan Ceballos.

Quinonez-Osario, 25, of 322 Shonnard St., was shot twice in the side of the head and in the left side of the neck and the torso. He died at Upstate University Hospital about 30 minutes after arrival. Ceballos, 25, was shot in the back but was hospitalized in critical condition on life support, according to authorities.

Police, who recovered 11 cartridge casings from two different guns at the scene, are continuing to search for Carrassquillo-Fuentes.
