Syracuse, NY -- A Syracuse University student was mugged earlier Saturday as he was walking alone in Walnut Park, Syracuse police and university officials said.
It happened at 2:51 a.m. in the park between Harrison and East Adams streets.
An e-mail from university administration to SU employees gives these details:
The student was approached by two males, one of whom asked directions. The second man grabbed the student’s wallet from his back pocket.
The student attempted to retrieve the wallet, but the two men threatened the student with physical harm. The two ran from the scene towards the rear of the Marshall Street Mall.
There were no weapons displayed and the student was not injured, the email states.
Syracuse police are continuing their investigation.
