Granby, NY – The investigation continues into a one-car accident Saturday in Granby that killed a Van Buren woman.
Officials still haven’t determined whether Brianna “Bree” L. Paice or Brad T. Castellino was behind the wheel about 11:05 p.m. when Castellino’s car went off state Route 48 and overturned, state police Investigator Terry Bauer said Monday.
Paice, 21, of 121 Henderson Blvd., was ejected from the 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora and died at the accident scene. An autopsy performed Sunday determined that she died from blunt force trauma resulting from the accident, Bauer said.
Bauer said he has not received a toxicology report yet.
Paice’s family released a statement Monday expressing their grief but adding that “we are all better for having been blessed with her in our lives.” A Facebook page also has been created in her memory that had gained more than 1,000 fans by Monday afternoon.
Castellino, 29, of 9 Steeplechase Lane, Lysander, was treated at Upstate University Hospital and released Sunday.
