UPDATE TO DPW FIRE -- Oswego Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie said the fire at the Mitchell Street Department of Public Works garage began in some wiring on a plow truck that was being worked on.
He said the fire, which was reported at 7:29 a.m. Sunday, resulted in heavy smoke throughout the building. He said city workers today have been cleaning vehicles with smoke damage.
All DPW vehicles are operable, McCrobie said. A fire department ambulance was in the building during the fire and it still is being cleaned so it can be put back into service.
No one was injured in the fire. McCrobie said firefighters had it under control in about four minutes. The fire was called in by an employee.
Earlier -- Oswego, NY -- A vehicle fire inside the City Of Oswego Department of Public Works garage on Mitchell Street has resulted in extensive smoke damage to the building and several vehicles inside, Oswego Fire Chief Jeff McCrobie said this morning.
The investigation is continuing. McCrobie said he hopes to have more information on the fire Monday afternoon.
