Syracuse, NY – The average price of a gallon of gas slid nearly 3 cents over the past week in the Syracuse area, two monitoring services report.
The SyracuseGasPrices.com Web site Sunday pegged the average for a gallon of regular at $2.80, down 2.7 cents from the previous Sunday. It was the lowest average since the end of July, when local prices began a brief run-up of about 6 cents a gallon that peaked on Aug. 10, according to the service’s historical data.
The AAA motor club’s Fuel Gauge Report put the local average early Monday at $2.809, down 2.9 cents from a week earlier.
