Double shooting on South Geddes Street kills one man, leaves second critically injured

Syracuse, NY – Syracuse police are investigating a double shooting at a gas station at 631 S. Geddes St. that left one man dead and another critically injured.

Police arriving shortly after 1:46 a.m. to a shooting call found a 25-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds at the gas station’s parking lot at South Geddes and Shonnard streets, Sgt. Tom Connellan said. The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, Connellan said.

While officers were at the scene with the first victim, a second gunshot victim arrived by private vehicle at the hospital, Connellan said. That 26-year-old man is in very critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, he said.

The victims are not identified and their families have not been notified, Connellan said.

Investigators still are working to learn the circumstances behind the double shooting. Anyone with information should call the police Criminal Investigations Division at 442-5222. All calls will be kept confidential.
