One-car crash Friday night claims life of Anthony E. Birardi, 18,
Camden -- A one car accident on state Route 69 in the town of Camden late Friday night has claimed the life of a Liverpool teen.
The accident occurred at about 11:35 p.m. Anthony E. Birardi, 18, was traveling west on state Route 69 in his 2000 Jeep at a high rate of speed when his vehicle traveled off the south shoulder of the road, Oneida County Sheriff's deputies said.
The Jeep traveled off the road, slid sideways and struck a utility pole on the driver's side. It continued through the grass and rolled over several times.
Birardi was ejected from the vehicle. He did not survive his injuries, deputies said.
The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by the Camden Police Department, the New York State Police, the Camden Fire Department and Coroner Kevin Barry.
