Mentz, NY – A Throop man was charged with felony driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop early Sunday in Mentz, state police said.
Troopers said they saw a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of Centerpoint Road about 1:35 a.m. and made a traffic stop. The driver, Daniel E. Usher, 27, of 2148 Sine Road, failed initial roadside sobriety tests, troopers said.
Usher was charged with felony DWI due to a driving while intoxicated conviction within the past 10 years, plus refusing to take a breath test, failure to keep right and several equipment violations, troopers said. He was arraigned in Mentz town court and ordered held on bail of $2,000 cash or $4,000 pending a court appearance today, troopers said.
