Market's director doesn't want a repeat of the Bret Michaels fiasco.
Syracuse, NY -- The Bret Michaels fiasco this week was poison to the Market Block Party at the Central New York Regional Market. The series' last concert, featuring the rock band Asia and scheduled for next Thursday, is canceled.
Market director Eugene Elemos said today he told local concert promoter Michael S. Banks the market didn't want a repeat of Thursday's episode, when rocker Bret Michaels and his band showed up for a concert and left after a pay dispute with Banks. The band did not perform.
"The Regional Market does not want a repeat of yesterday," Elemos said Friday. "The Regional Market was the last to hear about (the cancellation)."
Elemos said he was also trying to get in touch with Asia's management to inform them of the cancellation.
